Invited Speakers

Ward Heilman, Bridgewater State University

Ward Heilman started his academic career as a Religion and Philosophy major. After dropping out of college a few times, he finally finished an undergraduate degree in Psychology at the State University of New York at New Paltz.


Karl-Dieter Crisman, Gordon College

Karl-Dieter Crisman is a Professor of Mathematics and Computer Science at Gordon College in Massachusetts and the recipient of the 2024 Northeastern Section Award for Distinguished College or University Teaching. His scholarly work is primarily in the mathematics of voting and choice, with a strong current side interest in Marin Mersenne's life and work.


Cristina Ballantine, College of Holy Cross

Cristina Ballantine completed her Ph.D. in Mathematics at the University of Toronto in 1998. Her advisor was James Arthur, and her thesis was entitled Hypergraphs and Automorphic Forms. After graduation, she had one-year teaching positions at the University of Wyoming and Bowdoin College and a two-year position at Dartmouth College as a J. W. Young Research Instructor. Since 2002, she has been in the Math Department at the College of the Holy Cross and is currently a Distinguished Professor of Science.


Vignon Oussa, Bridgewater State University

Vignon Oussa is a Professor of Mathematics at Bridgewater State University, specializing in Harmonic Analysis and Representation Theory. He has been actively engaged in the study of AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), and their intersections with mathematics, teaching, and the arts.
