Abstract: Artificial Intelligence is a transformative technology with the potential to reshape the academic landscape. While many of us are still uncertain about how it will influence the future of higher education, gaining a general understanding of how this technology functions can serve as a valuable starting point. In this talk, I will explore the underlying mechanisms and conceptual framework that support ChatGPT and other Large Language Models (LLMs).
Bio: Dr. Vignon Oussa is a Professor of Mathematics at Bridgewater State University, specializing in Harmonic Analysis and Representation Theory. He has been actively engaged in the study of AI and large Language Models (LLMs) and their intersections with mathematics, teaching, and the arts.
